Customer Rating: Summary: Just as expected Comment: I knew I had to upgrade from Vista, and this was less expensive than in a store. Win7 is MUCH better than Vista!
Customer Rating: Summary: Not what it's supposed to be. Comment: For all the hype I thought Windows 7 would be the best thing since sliced bread. Boy am I wrong. Don't waste your money. If you have an operating sytem that is working correctly DONT change.
It is full of bugs just like the other versions. You can not upgrade from anything but Vista and it is still not a clean upgrade. It needs to be real shaky on network connections and just not really all that special.
Customer Rating: Summary: 11th Commandment. Thou shalt not break anything is violated. Comment: New products should improve and not break anything. In many cases Windows 7 is an improvement. However I noted some thing that were fine with Vista and now broken. My computer is 64bit quad core with 4GB of RAM it uses the ASUS P5N-T Delux mother board with Windows 7 Ultimate. It is a good machine. The problems I have are as follows:
a) Now when I boostrap I always get the popup ASIO.sys !!(2). I uninstalled Asus Suite with no effect. This was not there with VISTA. I am not alone with this situation.
b) My network interface which was rock solid with VISTA triped off line with any significant traffic. Downloading became impossible. SKYPE conversations would not last more than a few minutes. Downloaded and installed latest network driver from NVIDIA (nforce 780i SLI) and it now works much better like 95% but still trips off the line. I need to disable and reeenable the network interface to continue. I am also not alone with this situation either.
Customer Rating: Summary: WINDOWS 7,ULTIMATE Comment: It's faster,+clearer then xp
a hassle to install, but worth it!
I'm still learning it, but like it already
Customer Rating: Summary: I like it Comment: I think windows 7 is great. First I had trouble installing, it would stop at 62%, did a search and found the answer at microsoft after that everything was fine. It does take a while if you are not doing a clean install. I think mine was about 10 hours. Smoother, quicker, Media center is 1000 times better. I had to do one other thing. Some of the drivers would'nt install right, I had to go each driver and install manually. From device manager search manually when driver list appears click driver every thing works fine.
Computers are great but for some messing with drivers and installing issues, is hard. We have a great thing but it is not Quite friendly enough yet for everyone. I believe someday it will be. Until then if you are not smart with computers get help.
