Comment: I owned this 500GB Cavalry for 18 months. I used it about 2-3X/month to back up specific folders. It was never a primary drive and never on for more than 2-3 hours at a time. It just sat on the desk and got turned off/on rarely. Around 7-8 months, it couldn't handle larger backups (more than 2-3GB). It would freeze & just click. Last week it simply stopped being recognized by my computer. I had it fixed & all info was rescued. It needed a new enclosure.

Comment: This is the 7th one of these I've bought, and not one has failed me. Every one has performed perfectly.
I use these drives to store my professional photographs in RAW, TIFF, and JPEG files.
When this hard drive is first powered on it comes up fast and responds fast.
It's hard to believe you can get such a good hard drive for so little money, but it's true.
I also use two of these hard drives to store the "back-up" data from my two computers, and they work very well for that too.
Also, these drives are small, good looking, and one very nice feature is the on-off switch in the back.
I "highly" recommend this external hard drive, and this brand, to anyone and everyone. You will NOT be wasting your money.

Summary: Wrong Product - Mislabled
Comment: Caution: I ordered this Model# caxe-37500 with USB and eSATA connectors, but received the Model# caui-37500 with USB connector only. Called Amazon, and they said they would send the correct model and a shipping lable to return the incorrect product at no cost -- a good experience. Note that the contents, box, and manufacturer's lable indicate the caui model with USB connector only. However, an additional lable incorrectly identifies the contents as the model with both USB and eSATA connectors. I expect Amazon will replace my unit and subsequent orders based on the Model# printed on the box -- also good.

Summary: Do you enjoy losing eight years worth of music?
Comment: If so, this is a great device to have! You too can spend a hundred dollars, only to have it suddenly not work one night not even a year and a half later. The funny thing was, i did not use this thing nearly all that much. In fact, maybe once every two weeks.
Cavalry, i know one of you lovely people are reading this. I had music on here that is absolutely IRREPLACABLE. This is close to as horrible as when 300+ of my cds were stolen, and in many ways worse just because of what some of that music meant to me that is not on album, anywhere.
Thank you Cavalry, i hope your family all enjoy's spending that little money i have on your worthless prodcuts.
Do yourself a favor, read all these other reviews that are bad because the people did not just get it! Sure, the first month things like this are always fantastic. Wait until a year from now. Do NOT buy this product, you will regret it.
